Opportunities

We are dedicated to creating a psychologically safe, open-communicating, independent, and helpful laboratory environment that encourages lab members to learn interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, enjoy research, and innovate with curiosity, courage, resilience, and perseverance. Our goal is to cultivate young talents to achieve personal growth, articulate career plan, and appreciate the “DAO” of science. We welcome motivated undergraduates, graduates, postdocs, and research assistants with chemistry, physics, material science, or computer science background to apply our laboratory.

Let's explore the exciting molecular quantum world together!

Applicants with the following research background will be considered with priority:

  1. Synthesis as well as electrical, magnetic, and optical characterization of coordination complexes or metal‒organic frameworks.
  2. Fabrication and characterization of organic field-effect transistors or organic light-emitting diodes.
  3. Synthesis of two-dimensional materials and characterization of their transport properties.
  4. Fabrication and characterization of single-molecule devices or spintronic devices.
  5. Quantum information science based on superconducting qubits, semiconductor quantum dots, or nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond.
  6. Design and development of autonomous scientific instruments.

Applicants proficient in the following skills will also be considered with priority:

  1. Air-free synthesis with Schlenk techniques and gloveboxes.
  2. Pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy.
  3. Electrical, magnetic, and optical measurements in high-vacuum and low-temperature environment based on dilution refrigerators, probe stations and cryostats equipped with superconducting magnets.
  4. Micro/nano fabrication.
  5. Machine learning, computer perception, and robotics.

Interested candidates please send the following documents as a combined PDF to sunlei@westlake.edu.cn and indicate “Position + Applicant Name” in the email subject.

  1. CV
  2. Statement of research experience and interests (maximum 3 pages)
  3. Contact information of two referees.
